All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Sunday, January 12, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 5:40 p.m., Deputies responded to the N9000 block of STH 69 in the Town of New Glarus for a report of a two vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Matthew D. Belknap, 41, New Glarus, WI, was traveling southbound when he attempted to stop his vehicle due to a dog running into the roadway. Belknap was unable to avoid a collision with the dog. Upon striking the dog, Belknapās vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle being driven by Kerstan L. Shippy, 19, Pearl City, IL.
Belknap reported that he was not injured that that he was wearing his seatbelt. Belknap had an adult passenger and three juvenile passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All of the passengers reported that they were wearing their seatbelts. The adult passenger and two of the juvenile passengers sustained minor injuries. The vehicle sustained functional damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
Shippy and her passenger reported that they were not injured and that they both were wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle sustained functional damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
The dog was found to be alive and the owner was located. The dog was turned over to its owner.
Domestic Abuse Arrest:
At approximately 11:10 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the N3900 block of Klondike Rd in the Town of Jordan for a report of a disturbance. Investigation resulted in Craig T. Coulthard, 39, Monroe, WI, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property, both Domestic Abuse related. Coulthard was transported to the Green County Jail and was released after the posting of bond.
