All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Sunday, February 9, 2020:
Traffic Crime:
At approximately 2:00 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation in the N3200 block of STH 81 in the Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the driver, Guillermo Trinidad Soberano, 38, Monroe, WI, being cited for Operate without a Valid License – 2nd Offense (Traffic Crime) and for Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Marlene Sanchez De La Cruz, 36, Monroe, WI, was also cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Both subjects were released pending a court appearance.
OWI Arrest:
At approximately 2:49 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation in the N1300 block of Mount Hope Rd in the Town of Spring Grove. Investigation resulted in the driver, Andrew A. Kapke, 50, Brodhead, WI, being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (alcohol) – 3rd Offense. Kapke was cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle and for Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle. Kapke was booked into the Green County Jail and was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 8:21 a.m., Deputies responded to the N6500 block of CTH E in the Town of Albany for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash. Investigation revealed that Sydney M. Mortaloni, 19, Albany, WI, was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle then entered the west ditch where it overturned and came to a rest. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the airbags did not deploy. Mortaloni reported that she was not injured and that she was wearing her seatbelt. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a private tow.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 10:40 a.m., Deputies, Belleville EMS, and the Belleville Fire Department responded to the N9200 block of CTH CC in the Town of Exeter for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Sarah A. McCarthy, 29, Belleville, WI, was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle entered the east ditch and came to a rest. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was left on scene. McCarthy advised that she was wearing her seatbelt. McCarthy sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Madison by EMS.
The Green County Highway Department assisted Deputies at the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 3:35 p.m., Deputies responded to the W6300 block of STH 11 in the Town of Monroe for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Alyssa A. Defazio, 20, Kenosha, WI, was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle entered the ditch where it struck a traffic sign. The vehicle then came to a rest. The vehicle sustained functional damage and the airbags did not deploy. Defazio reported that she was not injured and that she was wearing her seatbelt. The vehicle was removed from the ditch by a tow company. The vehicle was then driven from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 6:02 p.m., Deputies responded to the N6300 block of CTH N in the Town of Washington for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Zachary M. Burrows, 22, Princeton, IL, was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle then entered the ditch and struck a drainage ditch. The vehicle then came to a rest. Burrows reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 6:35 p.m., Deputies responded to the N8000 block of STH 69 in the Town of New Glarus for a reported of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Maria Luisa C. Rodriguez, 27, Freeport, IL, was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle then entered the east ditch where it collided with a utility pole. Rodriguez reported that she was not injured and that she was wearing her seatbelt. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Alliant Energy responded to the scene to assess the utility pole and wires.
Drug Paraphernalia:
At approximately 8:10 p.m., Deputies responded to the W3000 block of STH 11 in the Town of Jefferson for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. Investigation revealed that Jacey K. Lyons, 20, Monroe, WI, was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle then entered the ditch and came to a rest. Lyons reported that she was not injured and the vehicle did not sustain any damage. The vehicle was towed from the ditch. Investigation resulted in Lyons being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lyons was released pending a court appearance.
