Barbara J. Rockey, age 90, of Juda, died Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Barbara was born on January 13, 1930 in Monroe, the daughter of Herbert and Hulda (Dippel) Boll. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1947 and was united in marriage to Gilbert Rockey on July 13, 1950 in Monroe. She worked at the F.W. Woolworth Stores in Monroe and Janesville and following her marriage she and Gilbert farmed for many years in Jefferson Township. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Juda, enjoyed playing cards, and in her younger years bowled in leagues at Leisure Lanes and Turner Hall.
She is survived by her son, Mickey Rockey of Juda; four grandchildren, Sherri (Ryan) Smith of East Lansing, MI, Matthew Rockey of Oregon, WI, Ryan Rockey, and Amber (Barret) Steck all of Juda; five special great grandchildren, Trevhar, Anderson, Marin, Souley, and Yuri. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert, on January 1, 1995; a sister, Marian Reynolds; and two brothers, Herbert Jr. and Thomas Boll.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at the Zion United Methodist Church, Juda, with Rev. Kelly Jahn officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials are suggested in Barbara’s name to Juda Zion UMC.
