City of Monroe Mayor declares a Health Emergency in response to COVID-19.
The state of emergency, declared by the Mayor, is aimed at helping position the City of Monroe to be eligible to receive any future federal and state resources if they become available and to help mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The proclamation also allows for the ability to proclaim and enforce such orders, rules and regulations relating to the conduct of persons and the use of property as shall be necessary to protect the public peace, health and safety, and preserve lives and property to insure the cooperation necessary in emergency situations. Such proclamations may be rescinded by the council at any time.
