The Monroe Parks Department is reminding the public that the outdoors are open; however, the playgrounds are closed.
Outdoor spaces are critical to the mental and physical health of community members. The City’s parks and trails are still open for your enjoyment, except for the use of playgrounds.
Use of playgrounds are prohibited. All City of Monroe play structires are temporarily closed as precautionary measures to slow the spread of COVID-19. The City has declared a public health emergency. The CDC studies suggest the coronaviruses may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days.
Please practice social distancing and avoid close contact with others. The CDC recommends a minimum of 6 feed distance between individuals to help reduce the risk of spread.
Do not congregate in groups of 10 or more people.
