Rose Craigo, age 98, passed away peacefully in her Monroe, WI home on February 23, 2020. She was born in Clinton, Wisconsin to Albert Wehinger and Mary Rahberger. She was one of six children. Rose moved to Monroe as a young woman. It was there she met her husband, J Thurman Carigo. They were married on January 18, 1942. They were co-owners and operators of Craigo Grain. Through the years their family grew, they were blessed with five children, four boys and one girl.
She was a devoted mother and family always came first. She was grateful to have her brothers and sisters close by to share special moments. She loved to pass on her passion for fishing and knitting to her grandchildren. She was fond of a good card game with family and friends; the laughs were secondary to her competitive spirit.
Rose will be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face and the kindest heart through the best of times and when times were hard. An eternal optimist, she never complained and always looked for the silver lining. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Robert Wehinger; three sisters, Mary Gibbons, Emma Wenger, and Margaret Davis; and her loving husband, J. Thurman Craigo. She is survived by her four sons, Lee, David, Donald, and Jon; and one daughter, Wendy. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In remembrance, her immediate family will gather to celebrate her beautiful life.
