The following incidents occurred on Thursday, April 2, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 5:42 a.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and the Monroe Fire Department, responded to the N1000 block of STH 69 in the Town of Clarno for a report of a multiple vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that four vehicle were involved in the crash.
Investigation revealed that Alberto Morales, 25, Leaf River, IL, was traveling northbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. The deer then remained in the northbound lane and was then struck by a second vehicle that was traveling northbound behind Morales. The second vehicle was operated by Eduardo Vasquez-Martinez, 40, Freeport, IL. A third vehicle traveling northbound behind Vasquez-Martinez then collided with the back of Vasquez-Martinez’s vehicle. The third vehicle was operated by Pedro Tlapa-Castillo, 31, Freeport, IL. A fourth vehicle traveling behind Tlapa-Castillo then collided with the back of Tlapa-Castillo’s vehicle. The fourth vehicle was operated by Fausto Morales-Torres, 31, Cedarville, IL.
Morales advised that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained minor damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
Vasquez-Martinez reported a minor injury and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
Tlapa-Castilo reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. Two adult passengers in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and they were both transported to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room by EMS. Both passengers reported that they were wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Morales-Torres reported that he sustained a minor injury and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The deer was found to be deceased.
The Green County Highway Department assisted at the scene with traffic control. The roadway was closed for approximately 45 minutes due to the crash.

At approximately 1:44 p.m., Deputies responded to the W7500 block of CTH Y in the Town of Jordan for a report of a vehicle versus ATV crash. Investigation revealed that Jeramie W. Hurley, 34, Beaver Dam, WI, was operating a vehicle and was traveling eastbound on CTH Y. At this time, an ATV pulled out into the roadway in front of Hurley’s vehicle. The ATV then collided with Hurley’s vehicle. The ATV was found to be operated by a 12 year old juvenile from Columbus, WI.
Hurley reported that he sustained a minor injury and that he was wearing his seatbelt. An adult passenger in Hurley’s vehicle reported that they were not injured and that they were wearing their seatbelt. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The ATV sustained damage and was removed from the scene. The 12 year old juvenile was not injured in the crash. The 12 year old juvenile was wearing a safety helmet and eye protection.
