All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Monday, April 27, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 11:28 a.m., Deputies responded to the N3300 block of STH 69 in the Town of Monroe for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Riley A. Prien, 19, Monroe, WI, was operating a truck that was hauling a trailer. At this time, the truck and trailer jackknifed, causing damage to both the truck and trailer. The airbags did not deploy. Prien reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle reported that they were not injured and that they were wearing their seatbelt. The truck and trailer were both towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 6:03 p.m., Deputies responded to the N6500 block of English Settlement Rd in the Town of Albany for a report of a vehicle versus power pole crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle being operated by Thomas C. Ovadal, 17, Albany, WI, was traveling northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Ovadal lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch and struck a power pole. Ovadal reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. Three passengers in the vehicle all reported that they were not injured and that they were all wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle sustained damage and the airbags deployed. The power pole was not damaged. The vehicle was removed from the scene.
Ovadal was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
