All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Wednesday, April 8, 2020:
Milk Truck Unit Crash:
At approximately 3:55 a.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and the Monroe Fire Department, responded to the N3500 block of CTH N in the Town of Monroe for a report of a milk truck unit crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that a milk truck unit (semi-tractor pulling a tanker) was traveling southbound when the unit entered the gravel shoulder. The unit then entered the west ditch where it collided with an embankment. The unit then collided with a power pole, causing the power to break. The unit then overturned and came to a rest on its right side. The driver was identified and Dwaine J. Thoman, 72, Monticello, WI. Thoman reported that he was wearing his seatbelt and he sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Thoman was transported to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room by EMS.
The unit sustained damage and the airbags did not deploy. The tanker had a load of milk and some of the milk was spilled due to the crash. The unit was later towed from the scene.
Alliant Energy responded to the scene to make repairs to the power pole and power lines.
The Green County Highway Department assisted at the scene with traffic control. The roadway was shut down for approximately six hours due to the crash.
At the time of the crash there was heavy fog in the area that greatly reduced visibility.
Motor Vehicle versus Milk Truck Crash:
At approximately 9:14 a.m., Deputies responded to the N2200 block of CTH OK in the Town of Spring Grove for a report of a two vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Courtney I. Sedbrook, 31, Juda, WI, was traveling south on CTH OK when her vehicle collided with a milk truck unit (semi-tractor pulling a tanker) that was performing a backing maneuver into a driveway.
Sedbrook reported that she was not injured and that she was wearing a seatbelt. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The milk truck unit was found to be driven by Rodney J. Barr, 44, Rock City, IL. Barr reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The milk truck unit sustained functional damage and the airbags did not deploy.
At the time of the crash, there was a heavy fog in the area that greatly reduced visibility.
Motor Vehicle versus Semi Unit Crash:
At approximately 12:17 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 11/STH 81/CTH GG in the Town of Spring Grove for a report of a two vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Brett M. Bomar, 25, Sharon, WI, was operating a semi unit (semi-tractor pulling a trailer) traveling west on STH 11 and proceeded to turn onto STH 81. While turning onto STH 81, Bomar’s unit struck a vehicle that was stopped at the Stop Sign on STH 81.
Bomar reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The semi-tractor sustained no damage and the trailer sustained minor damage. The airbags did not deploy. An adult passenger reported that they were wearing their seatbelts and that they were not injured. The unit was driven from the scene.
The vehicle that was stopped at the Stop Sign on STH 81 was found to be driven by Erica L. M. Turner, 23, Monroe, WI. Turner reported that she was not injured and that she was wearing her seatbelt. Her vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
Turner was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 1:14 p.m., Deputies, Argyle EMS, and the Argyle Fire Department responded to the N7000 block of CTH J in the Town of Adams for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that David A. Nyhus, 72, Blanchardville, WI, was traveling southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch. The vehicle then overturned several times and came to a rest. Nyhus reported that he was wearing his seatbelt. Nyhus sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported in a private vehicle to an area hospital. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and remained don scene.
