Monroe High School was recognized as a 2019-2020 Project Lead the Way Distinguished School. Over 6,500 schools in the United States use the Project Lead the Way Curriculum. Monroe High School was one of eight (8) high schools in Wisconsin to receive the Distinguished School recognition.
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a four year sequence of courses that introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering and manufacturing at the college level. Through PLTW programs, students develop the in-demand knowledge and transportable skills that they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. As PLTW students progress through grades PreK-12, they are empowered to engage in problem solving and process thinking, develop technical knowledge and skills, build communication skills, and explore career opportunities.
PLTW’s recognition program is designed to honor districts and schools committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in their PLTW programs. The schools and districts recognized are empowering students to thrive in an evolving world and have achieved exemplary results from their PLTW programs.
“It is a great honor to recognize Monroe High School for its commitment to providing students with an exceptional educational experience,” said Dr. Vince Bertram, President and CEO of PLTW. They should be very proud of their work to ensure students have the knowledge and skills to be career ready and successful on any career path they choose.”
