Dorothy V. Derendinger, age 94, of Monroe, died on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Monroe Health Services. She was born on August 9, 1925 in Attica, the daughter of William and Alta (Crosgrove) Qualley. Dorothy and Robert Derendinger were united in marriage on October 2, 1945 in Monticello.
Dorothy worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Clare Hospital for 18 years. She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ, in Brodhead. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn “Dinger” Rufer of Monroe; grand-daughter Samantha Murray of Brodhead; sister, June Blumer, of Albany; and sister-in-law, Rose Qualley of Mineral Point.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; son, Larry; brothers, Russell and Lowell Qualley; sisters, twin Daphne Minder, Ruth Malkow, Vera Zimmerman, Jean Elmer and Verna Zimmerman.
Private Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date.
