Forrest Klug-Hanson, age 23, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 6, 2020. He was born the son of Jeffrey Hanson and Le Anne Klug-Lasiewicz on July 8, 1996 in Madison. Forrest lived in Columbus, WI until sixth grade, his family then relocated to Monroe.
He was a 2014 graduate of Monroe High School. He participated in Track and Field and was part of the team that won All Conference with the relay team, he also played football. He was a phenomenal artist including: singing, writing, playing and teaching others how to play guitar. Forrest won many awards for his performance in musicals and he also won at State Competition for Solo and Ensemble; the first in 50 years for Monroe High School. He also attended Hamlin University in St. Paul, MN. Forrest had been living in St. Paul, MN where he was an Assistant Manager at Fossil at the Mall of America; he had recently moved back to Monroe.
Forrest was a very giving person and cared deeply for others, he often volunteered his time helping the homeless.
Forrest is survived by his father; Jeff (Jeanine Meyer Lewis) Hanson; mother; Le Anne (Randal Hahn) Klug-Lasiewicz of Monroe; sister, Lacquine (Josh Watters) Klug-Lasiewicz of Fennimore; half-brother, Zack Hanson of Memphis TN; niece, Alyric Watters; nephews, Braxstyn Watters and Cypress Hanson; maternal grandmother, Jane Klug of Eagle River; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Klug; paternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Hanson; and uncles, Timothy Klug and Timothy Hanson.
A Celebration of Forrest’s Life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund is being established.
