The following incidents occurred on Saturday, August 8, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash / OWI Arrest:
At approximately 2:47 a.m., Deputies, Albany EMS, and the Albany Fire Department responded to the N7100 block of STH 104 in the Town of Albany for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that Luis M. Malone, 19, Waunakee, WI, was traveling northbound when he reported that he fell asleep. The vehicle then crossed the center line and entered the west ditch. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and proceeded to travel northbound in the southbound lane. The vehicle then entered the west ditch again and collided with an embankment. The vehicle then overturned and came to a rest in the west ditch. The vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Malone reported that he was wearing his seatbelt and he sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. EMS transported Malone to the UW Hospital Emergency Room.
Investigation resulted in Malone being arrested for Operate While under the Influence (drugs) 1st Offense. Malone was cited for Inattentive Driving, Unsafe Lane Deviation, and Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control. Malone was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Department, and the Brooklyn Police Department assisted Deputies at the crash scene.
UTV versus Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 2:50 a.m., Deputies responded to the W5700 block of Iliff Rd in the Town of Monroe for a report of someone walking in the roadway. Upon Deputies arrival, they located a UTV (utility terrain vehicle) in the north ditch that had been involved in a crash. Investigation revealed that a UTV was traveling in the roadway and collided with a silver Ford vehicle. The UTV sustained damage and was abandoned in the north ditch. The driver of the UTV fled the scene and was not located. The UTV was later towed from the scene. Vehicle parts belonging to a silver Ford vehicle were located at the crash scene. The silver Ford vehicle also fled the scene and was not located. The silver Ford vehicle would have sustained functional damage. It is unknown if anyone involved sustained any injuries.

Motorcycle Crash:
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Deputies, Albany EMS, and the Albany Fire Department responded to the W2300 block of CTH C in the Town of Brooklyn for a report of a single motorcycle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that Ronald J. Richards, 63, Albany, WI, was traveling eastbound when the motorcycle sustained a mechanical failure, causing the motorcycle to overturn. Richards was ejected from the motorcycle. Richards was not wearing a helmet. Richards was transported via EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the crash. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was later removed from the scene.
