Today the City of Monroe announced they have launched a convenient new communication system to assist with submitting complaints and receiving information from the city government. TextMyGov is a text-message-based system designed to open lines of communication between city agencies and citizens. Residents and visitors will be able to easily obtain information and report code violations, public work issues, or city park maintenance issues.
Users can simply text the word “hi” to 608-336-3336 to start a dialog with the TextMyGov system. The smart texting technology identifies keywords texted to provide immediate assistance in locating information online or gathering information on a complaint which will be directed to the proper city department.
Additionally, residents can now request to receive text notifications from the city. Notifications typically include upcoming events, parking restrictions, road closures, etc. To subscribe to city text notifications, text ‘MONROEINFO” to 91896.
