July 18, 2020 Sugar River Fatal Incident Update – Victim Name Released
The Green County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man of who died on the Sugar River on Saturday July 18th 2020.
He was identified as 25 year old Benjamin Noble M. Belzer of Madison Wisconsin.

On Saturday July 18th, 2020 at 3:20pm Green County Deputies and the Albany Fire Department responded to the area of N4600 County Highway E to the report of a male subject tubing on the Sugar River who went under the water and did not resurface.
Also responding were Albany EMS, Green County EMS, Brodhead Fire Department, WI Department of Natural Resources, Janesville Fire’s Water Rescue Team and the Rock County Dive Team.
At 6:05pm searchers located the body of a 25 year old Madison man in the water about 400 yards from where he entered the water.
The Green County Coroner’s Office also responded. This incident remains under investigation.
