The following events occurred on August 6th, 2020:
All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 8:24 AM, Green County Deputies responded to the intersection of Dunphy Road at Tipperary Rd., Town of Albany, for a 2 vehicle crash with no injuries.
Investigation found that James Graves, 77 of Albany, was eastbound on Dunphy Road and missed his turn onto Tipperary Road. Graves was performing a backing maneuver when he backed into a second eastbound vehicle operated by Marissa Padulla, 19 of Monroe. Both vehicles sustained functional damage, there was no airbagdeployment, both drivers reported no injuries and were wearing seatbelts.
Padulla’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
No citations were issued.
Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries:
At 1:32 PM Green County Deputies and Brodhead Police Department Officers responded to a 2 vehicle crash in the N5300 block of STH 104, Town of Albany.
Investigation revealed that Jay Deremo, 60 of Janesville, was southbound on STH 104 and was traveling at a slow speed due to a tractor in front of him. Deremo was then rear ended by a second southbound vehicle operated by Jaida Meier, 17 of Brodhead. There were also 3 juvenile passengers in Meier’s vehicle.
Meier’s vehicle sustained severe damage, the air bags deployed, and it was later towed from the scene. Everyone in Meier’s vehicle were wearing a seatbelt during the crash and one passenger sustained minor injuries which did not require medical attention.
Deremo’s truck sustained moderate damage, the air bags did not deploy, and his truck was later towed from the scene. Deremo was not injured and was wearing his seat belt during the crash.
Meier was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and was released pending a court date.
Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries:
At 1:38 PM, Green County Deputies, Monticello Fire Department, and Albany EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash in the W3700 block of County HWY C, Town of Mt. Pleasant.
An investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Nicholas Johnson, 38 of Belleville, was westbound on County Highway C when he failed to negotiate a curve east of County Highway CC. The vehicle reentered the roadway, overcorrected, and then went into the ditch. Upon entering the ditch, the vehicle rolled over, coming to rest on its roof.
Johnson was the only occupant and sustained very minor injuries from the crash. Johnson was wearing his seatbelt and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was recovered from the ditch and removed from the scene by a tow truck. Johnson was warned for failure to keep vehicle under control.
