All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Saturday, January 18, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 7:55 a.m., Deputies responded to the N7800 block of STH 69 in the Town of New Glarus for a report of a single motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Brock A. Westby-Hess, 24, Monticello, WI, was traveling northbound when he lost control of the vehicle due to the snow covered road surface. The vehicle then entered the ditch where it overturned. Westby-Hess reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The New Glarus Police Department assisted at the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 10:49 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH D and Carla Dr in the Town of Exeter for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Drew M. Enloe, 17, Belleville, WI, was traveling northbound on CTH D when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch. The vehicle then collided with a power pole and came to a rest. Enloe reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. An adult passenger in the vehicle reported that they were wearing their seatbelt and that they were not injured. The vehicle sustained damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was removed from the ditch by a tow company.
The Belleville Police Department assisted Deputies at the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 3:29 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Middle Juda Rd and Twin Grove Rd in the Town of Jefferson for a report of a two vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Darlene L. Wheeler, 80, Brodhead, WI, was traveling northbound on Twin Grove Rd approaching the intersection with Middle Juda Rd. Wheeler reported that she stopped at the Stop Sign and entered the intersection after not observing any traffic on Middle Juda Rd. Upon entering the intersection, Wheeler’s vehicle collided with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Middle Juda Rd, which was found to be driven by Ward F. Steinmann, 41, Juda, WI.
Wheeler reported a minor injury and that she was wearing her seatbelt. Wheeler’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Steinmann reported that he was not injured and that he was wearing his seatbelt. Steinmann’s vehicle sustained severe damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Wheeler was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way from a Stop Sign.
