Only In Wisconsin Giving has pledged substantial support toward making Green County a stronger community with a commitment for years to come.
In response to the Green County Family YMCA’s Building A Stronger Community Capital Campaign, Only In Wisconsin Giving has pledged $250,000 to the project. Only In Wisconsin Giving is the charitable arm of New Glarus Brewing Company which has a long history of giving generously to non-profit organizations in the local community.
Scott May, President of Only in Wisconsin stated, “When Only in Wisconsin Giving was approached with this opportunity to help the YMCA of Green County achieve its goal of making the Y a modern and topnotch facility for children and families in Green County the decision to contribute was an easy one. This capital campaign will ensure that children in the greater Green County area have not only a completely updated facility, but the resources for child care and after-school programming that are desperately needed in this area.”
Since 1993, New Glarus Brewing Company has been focused on keeping it local, limiting their beer sales to the state of Wisconsin. Known best for their signature beer, Spotted Cow, their beer is highly regarded throughout Wisconsin as well as around the world, having won a number of international awards.
The Green County Family YMCA is in the midst of a $30 million Capital Campaign that will revitalize its current facility, transforming it into a community hub, serving families across 40 zip codes. Through the efforts of the Y’s Building A Stronger Community Capital Campaign, the YMCA building will be renovated and enlarged to meet the ever-changing needs of YMCA patrons, ensuring childcare and healthy living needs are met for generations to come.
Trent Henning, Executive Director of the YMCA remarked: “We would like to thank Only in Wisconsin Giving, the employees of New Glarus Brewing Company and the Carey Family for believing in this transformational community project. New Glarus Brewing Company has always believed in the mission of the YMCA and has supported programs like community swim lessons, after-school programs and facility improvements.”
The YMCA’s enhanced facility will include a combination of renovated and newly constructed spaces with the addition of 50,000 square feet. New spaces will include Childcare and Youth Development Centers, Healthy Living Center, Gymnastics Center, community kitchen, fitness studios, spaces for adults, youth and more.
May stated, “Only in Wisconsin Giving has always made childcare and early childhood education a priority, and this donation represents one of the very real ways hard-working people in Green County are tackling this issue. and Only in Wisconsin Giving is honored and proud to be a part of this project and do our bit to contribute.”
Henning stated: “We appreciate their commitment to this community project that will allow our YMCA to expand programs to meet real community needs like after-school programming, childcare and much more.”
