Ernest J. Gunser, age 88, of Browntown, died Saturday, February 8, 2019, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Ernest was born on September 29, 1931 in Krobotek, Austria, the son of John and Hermina (Leiner) Gunser. He was stationed in Japan while serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ernest married Marjorie J. Coburn on April 18, 1952 in Michigan. The couple moved to rural Browntown in 1966. Ernest was employed as a supervisor at Advance Transformer until retiring in 1988. He enjoyed the fresh air of living in the country, working on his lawn, and in his younger years fishing and hunting.
He is survived by three children, Jan Ostby of Peyton, CO, John (Roxane) Gunser of Folsom, LA, and Jerry (Kris) Gunser of Westfield, WI; four grandchildren, Justin (Stefanie) Ostby, Kari Ostby, Jordan Gunser, and Casey Gunser; two great grandchildren, Zoe and Ava Ostby. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie, on December 27, 2016; and son-in-law, Rodney Ostby.
