All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Monday, February 24, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 5:26 a.m., Deputies responded to the N6700 block of STH 39 in the Town of New Glarus for a report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Michael D. Sigman, 45, Blanchardville, WI, was traveling eastbound when he reported that he swerved to miss a deer that was in the roadway. Sigman lost control of the vehicle, which exited the roadway and struck a power pole. Sigman reported that he was not injured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was left on scene.
Alliant Energy responded to the scene to make repair to the power pole.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 9:47 a.m., Deputies began investigating a report of a single vehicle crash that had occurred in the N6500 block of English Settlement Rd in the Town of Albany. Investigation revealed that Justin D. Eastwood, 16, Albany, WI, was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck several mailboxes. The vehicle then entered the ditch where it came to a rest. Eastwood then left the accident scene without reporting the crash to law enforcement. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was later towed from the scene. Eastwood was later transported to an area hospital by a private vehicle for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
Eastwood was cited for Inattentive Driving, Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of an Accident, and Operating with a Tread Depth less than 2/32 of an Inch.
The Albany Police Department assisted Deputies with the incident.
Warrant Arrest:
At approximately 10:20 p.m., Andy J. Markham, 43, Brodhead, WI, turned himself in at the Green County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued for his arrest by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Markham was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Green County Jail.
