All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incidents occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2020:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At approximately 5:27 p.m., Deputies, Albany EMS, and the Albany Fire Department, responded to the intersection of Purintun Rd and Tin Can Rd in the Town of Albany for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that William C. Kernen, 62, Belleville, WI, was traveling southbound on Tin Can Rd when he lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the centerline and entered the east ditch. The vehicle then struck a power pole and overturned. The vehicle then came to a rest.
Kernen reported that he was wearing his seatbelt and he sustained a non-life threatening injury. Kernen was transported to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room by EMS. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Kernen will be cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control.
Alliant Energy responded to the scene to replace the power pole.
Theft Arrest:
At approximately 7:13 p.m., Deputies arrested Travis J. Cook, 46, Orfordville, WI, following an investigation into a theft of an ATV that was reported to the Green County Sheriff’s Office in 2019. Cook was arrested on charges of Felony Theft and Obstructing an Officer. Cook was incarcerated in the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance. The stolen ATV was recovered in the Village of Orfordville.
The Orfordville Police Department assisted with the investigation.
